Susan Nelson, a member of Harvest OPC in Wyoming, MI, has been counseling and leading women’s and youth ministries for more than two decades. She has been formally involved in counseling for the past eight years at Harvest as part of the church’s counseling ministry. Susan has been trained by the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) and is pursuing her master’s degree in biblical counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia). God has been faithful to Susan through many joys and sorrows throughout her life.

Susan’s counseling service, 1Day, was named after Revelation 21:3-4. Susan lives and counsels in the knowledge that one day, God and his people will dwell together, and “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Susan has followed Jesus since her youth. She has been married to Matt for more than twenty years. They have been blessed with three children: one son (age 14) and one daughter (age 17) who live at home, and one daughter (age 19) who is currently at Taylor University. The Nelsons enjoy spending time together up north in Michigan, and they are quite fond of their dog Irish.
